Here is my story:
Growing up, I was an active kid. I always had something going on or was always heading to a sports event. Well, then college came along. I slowly started to gain weight, but walking to classes each day really helped to maintain my weight. I didn’t really experience issues until after I graduated.
I was one of the lucky ones. I got – and kept – a job right out of college (even through the recession in 2008). Despite how great keeping a job was, I was sitting idle in a desk chair for 8 hours of the day. I was so tired when I got off work that I would either nap or just go to bed early. This only made things worse.
Ever since I graduated college in 2007, I have had issues with my weight. I never really noticed it unless someone said something to me, or when my clothes fit differently. And I would go either way on the scale. It was never drastic and it was never on purpose. It just happened. Weight either crept on or slid off without me really noticing.
My breaking point:
I have been on Weight Watchers twice. This last time was truly a holy crap moment! I went to the doctor and got on the scale (I hate that we have to do that each time we go to the doctor’s office), but when I heard what I weighed, I gasped out loud. I couldn’t believe that I weighed that much – more than I have ever weighed before. I knew something had to change.
I joined Weight Watchers and became diligent about cooking. And thus, Dash of Herbs was born.
