When I weighed in yesterday, I was surprised at the number that came back.  I have now lost over 20lbs.  Over the last few weeks, I was so close to finally losing 20lbs, I could taste it.  And now, I finally made it.  I am over the moon, but I still have a long way to go.  I still want to lose about 15 more pounds, but this is a huge accomplishment.

Losing The First 20 lbs

This first 20lbs was hard.  It wasn’t impossible (obviously), but it was hard.  I think the hardest part of having to have restraint.  I really wanted tortilla chips and cheese dip in the 2 months that I have been on this journey.  Like really bad.  I have counted out my tortilla chips and ate them with salsa recently.  That was hard and definitely not what I wanted.  I really want cheese dip and some delightful tortilla chips.

As hard as it was, I was able to drink 2 glasses of wine twice this past week (gasp).  And I have had pizza and a hamburger – without the bun – this week…what other diet could I eat pizza and a burger and still lose weight?  I also ate Halo Top almost every night this week.  I recently found the Mint Chip and Lemon Cake Halo Top.  I couldn’t believe I found these flavors and OMG…they are fantastic.

What I love about this program is that you can eat anything you want (in moderation) and you can still lose weight.  I love that I am able to eat foods I love without falling off the wagon.

  • Starting Weight on May 31, 2016 – 191 lbs
  • Current Weight on July 22, 2016 – 171.8 lbs
  • Total Weight Loss:  20.2 lbs


  1. Thank you so much! It’s been so great so far, but it’s been challenging too. Like today, for example. We had an all day meeting at work, and having just a few things off of the lunch menu that I could eat was really hard. At least I had my snack bag.

    I’m glad you were able to enjoy yourself on your cruise. You can lose those 5lbs pretty quickly…don’t worry about that!

  2. Congrats! You are doing phenomenally and I am so happy for you! I need to get back on the wagon. I watch but I give in and had a minor set back and then the cruise hit and well…the rest is history. Here’s hoping I can drop 5 lbs soon!

    WW is amazing bc with moderation you don’t feel like you are missing out. I just need to regain my self control!

  3. Thank you Emelia. I think it’s so important to still eat the foods you love so that you don’t get deprived, but you have to do it in moderation. Moderation is key to me. Healthy food makes me feel good (no more donuts and bad crap), and that is what I have to keep remembering.

  4. This. Is. Awesome. GO YOU! I love that you can still indulge at times. I need to learn that food doesn’t make me feel good. While I do enjoy it and can…it’s not going to solve problems or ultimately make me happy. I seem to over indulge which is not good!

  5. Thank you! I think the struggle will always be there for us. But I have noticed that sometimes I don’t eat as much (I snack a good amount during the day) for my main meals. Sometimes, though, I am hungry all day. It just depends, I think.

  7. Thanks Amanda! I appreciate that. So, Halo Top is only sold (nationally) in Kroger and the Kroger banners. It’s in the health food section of your Kroger in the frozen section. It’s hard to find. I almost always stock up when I can find it (which is why I have about 14 pints of it right now in my fridge). I’m not sure where you have been looking, but try other Krogers around your area. I have found that Krogers in town have it over the suburban ones.

  8. Thank you Rachel! I am really trying, and feeling like I’m finally getting somewhere. Almost to goal – just 15 more pounds to lose. I also saw a number on the scale today that I haven’t seen in about 2 years…so that is exciting.

    What are some of your favorite foods over there? I can check the app to see what pops up. I know that WW is worldwide, but I’m not sure how that affects the points or how you would track things. I do online only, which is helpful since everything is on the go. I don’t have to go to meetings either.

    Honestly, your journey is making me really interested in trying WW. However, I’m nervous with living abroad it will be hard to track. Thoughts?
